After one of the shortest warm ups ever we were soon into our stride against a big Paxton Pumas side. With the scrums working well and crisp back play we had soon built up a 14-0 lead and were looking quite safe. It all went a bit downhill from there though, and it was only our immense tackling that kept us in the game. They were living off our mistakes and bloody hell we were making a few! Anyway with 3 minutes to go they had taken the lead 17-14 and it was backs against the wall stuff. After a quality kick-off from Taggart, Mudge put in a huge hit on their catcher who proceeded to knock the ball on. The forwards smashed over the top securing excellent ball which was then put out to Liam who kicked it deep into their 22. After a bounce which dumbfounded their fullback and was clearly meant by Liam!, the ball was secured and quick hands from the rest of the back line ensured Ginge went over for the try in the corner. This was then converted by Liam putting us 21-17 in front and that was how the game finished.
We manned up and showed real heart to keep going even though we were behind with little time left on the clock and it was a good team performance, although can we make it a bit easier next time lads?
