So after a very good last week, Fawley RFC travel away to Kingsclere, we were expecting a tougher game and we weren’t let down, Kingsclere’s pack come at us from the very first second after about 20mins they managed to go over for their first try. But the team keep the heads high and produced some really good running rugby at times but a few penalties in the wrong half of the pitch gave Kingsclere the opportunity to stretch the lead to 14-0 at half time. At half time a couple of tactical changes saw Peter Cook replace Dave Hart at prop and Tyrone Holden replace Andy Mcfarlane on the wing. Within 10 minutes after some great passing between forwards and backs Tyrone squeezed in at the corner for Fawley first try of the game, Michael MacDonald just missed with the conversion. Fawley continued to pile on the pressure and where rewarded with another try 10minutes later scored by Jon-Paul Headley out on the left hand wing, once again a fantastic effort by Micheal MacDonald saw the ball come of the post. Fawley battled well all through the game and as Club Captain I was very proud of the performances the lads put in. it is a good start to the season and I believe we can carry on
